Brett Warne asked me to help him out with a small side project he had taken on: to 3d print a cake topper for his friend’s wedding! The goal was to create a cake topper that looked like the couple getting married. Using photos of the couple as reference, I created a rough mesh of both of them holding hands over the course of two lunches while at work. ZBrush was my weapon of choice and dynamesh ended up being a great tool for adjusting resolution for the printer. Once I was done with the model, we took it to the printer!
After we removed the scaffolding from the printed model, we sent it over to our friend, Greg Peltz, to hand paint it.
In the end, the couple loved the cake topper and had a great wedding! 🙂
